This amazing 1979 Toyota Landcruiser Restomod is simply amazing and built to an incredible level of fit and finish. This classic FJ40 received a full frame off restoration.The body was removed from the frame and the frame was sandblasted and painted in a durable satin black finish. Then a monster 6.0L GM LY6 LS V-8 mated to a heavy duty 4L80 GM truck transmission were bolted in and mated with a Toyota split case transfer case with Twin Stick shifter. Toyota front and rear differentials with 3.70 gears, ARB lockers, and upgraded Bobby Long chrome moly axles put the power and torque to the ground. Four wheel power disc brakes were added along with Mickey Thompson Classic II's wrapped in BFGoodrich rubber. The suspension received a HFS 4” lift kit, polyurethane bushings, Bilstein shocks and the steering upgraded to power steering with heavy duty GM steering box. . The body was stripped to bare metal and the tub from the cowl back was replaced with an Aqualu Aluminum tub made of 5052 .156 gauge aluminum – 50% stronger and 1/3 the weight of the original tub. New Painless Performance wiring harness was installed. Interior upgrades include Metal Tech full cage, Corbeau seats, Flaming River steering column, Autometer gauges, stereo system, and air conditioning. Interior was sprayed with lizard skin heat and sound deadener and then both the interior and underside of the body were sprayed with color matched bed liner. All this was finished in beautiful Toyota Nordic Blue paint with a white removable roof and a Warn 8074 winch was installed to help pull out all those other SUVs that try to keep up with this beautiful bruiser!
