The year 1996 marked the end of the C4 Corvette and Chevrolet motor division wanted to send out this fourth generation Corvette with a bang! What they came up with was a special edition all American pride symbol called the Corvette Grand Sport. Bathed in beautiful Admiral Blue paint with a bright white center stripe and red fender hash marks, this special edition Corvette screams America while at the same time paying homage to the original 5 Grand Sport race cars built in 1963. Black painted five spoke 17" ZR-1 style wheels wrapped in sticky rubber complete the bad boy race car look. This Corvette looks fast just sitting still!! Under the hood is the legendary LT4 5.7L V-8 that puts out an under rated 330hp and 340 lb. ft of torque on it's way to a screaming 6300RPM redline. Power is fed to a ZF 6-speed manual transmission(no automatics was available because race car) and goes on to a Dana 44 heavy duty rear differential with a 3.45:1 ratio and limited slip. While this baby is packing 315mm wide rear rubber, that awesome LT4 V-8 has no problem turning rubber to smoke! Suspension is the extra cost optional F45 selective real time damping, a 1996 only system that allowed the driver to tune the ride of the car based upon three different modes. The chassis computer would then sample the road at over 100 times per second and adjust the firmness of the shock absorbers to suit. This gives this amazing Corvette stupendous handling on a race track and a supple ride for when you're just cruising. Speaking of cruising, you'll be able to cruise for hours thanks to all the interior amenities. There is power windows, lock and mirrors, a driver information center, Bose Gold Series AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo, and power leather fully adjustable sport seats with inflatable lumbar and side bolsters.
