The 1972 Corvette model year was not known for a lot of new features but more for what it was the last to feature. While there were virtually no appearance changes to the 1972 Corvette, the model year did mark the “end of an era” for the third-generation Corvette. It would be the last model year to feature chrome bumpers both front and rear, a bright egg-crate style grill, front fender grills, and a removable rear-window for that open air motor experience. It has a timeless style and grace that was gone with the "endura" bumpered cars moving forward. The beautiful and elegant looking September 71' build 1972 Stingray pictured here is painted in its original code 988 Steel Cities Grey with 15x8 inch Chevrolet Rallye wheels wrapped in brand new white letter radial tires. This rather unique color is almost more of a green-grey than a standard grey, and with the beautiful chrome bumpers and silver painted wheels it really jumps out and grabs you. This car is a looker. The interior of this beauty is complete in its original code 400 black vinyl as it left the factory. The carpets and seats are in excellent condition, and all gauges are 100 percent functional, clock included. This classy Corvette features the custom seat belt option with shoulder straps, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, upgraded Retrosound AM/FM stereo with AUX input, power steering and power brakes. Under the hood is the numbers matching, August 71' build date, CKX coded, 200HP 350CI V-8 mated to a Turbo Hydramatic three speed automatic transmission. The standard ratio 3.08 rear axle features posi-traction and disc brakes are present all around. Sold new by Needham Chevrolet of Latrobe, PA on October 4th, 1971 to Barbara Relich of Newstanton, PA, this amazing classic has been with its current owner since 1984. It was restored in 1989, and lovingly cared for and sparingly driven since. The original laminated window sticker is included with the car, along with the original owner's manual, emissions system booklet, and the warranty booklet with the Protect-O-Plate still attached.
