This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette is the ultimate resto-mod Corvette that combines classic looks, track ready performance, and daily driver functionality. This is an original, real deal 63' split window that has been modified in a way that would make Zora Duntov jump for joy. This gorgeous 63' sits on a custom Street Shop chassis that has extra reinforcement for the wide body modifications and those extra wide wheels and tires. The suspension comes from a C4 Corvette with aluminum control arms, aluminum spindles, aluminum driveshafts, big sway bars and adjustable coil over Ridetech shock absorbers with remote mount reservoirs. Braking forces is supplied by huge Wilwood slotted and drilled discs with 6-pison front calipers on 13" rotors and 4-piston rear calipers on 14" C5 rear rotors. The crown jewel of this car is the GMPP LS7 V-8 sitting under the hood. This all-aluminum powerhouse has a forged steel crank, forged rods, aluminum pistons, dry sump lubrication, an oil to water oil cooler, oversized aluminum radiator, and fuel injection. With a measured output of 454 horsepower at the rear wheels in a 3,000-pound automobile, this Corvette is literally a missile on wheels. This monster mill is mated to a heavy duty Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and feeds power to a reinforced Dana 44 independent rear axle with 3.73 gears. Custom Stainless Works long tube headers and 3-inch mandrel bent exhaust give this bad boy Vette an authoritative bark that puts everyone on notice that you have arrived. Putting this power to the ground are HUGE wheels and tires, measuring 17"X11" with 315 section rubber up front and 17"X12" with 335 section rubber out back. This monster wheel and tire set up makes for amazing adhesion in corners but necessitated the flared front and rear fenders along with a narrowed axle housing in back. This is a real track car, not a trailer queen. As such, it has a roll bar installed, five-point harnesses, a weight box with 130lbs of lead behind the passenger seat for balance, and tech inspection sheets showing the near perfect 50/50 weight balance and even corner weights. While this is a track day ready Corvette, it does have C5 Corvette adjustable leather seats, ice cold AC, and a nice little sound system. The interior has been left very original with the factory 63' only gauges, original dash and console, and even the original style T-handle chrome Corvette shifter (with the buzzy reverse lock out collar). This beautiful Corvette is a two-owner car, and with the previous owner since 1972. It has been raced and shown extensively through the years and has even been shown at SEMA with Optima batteries and Ridetech suspension companies. It has been featured on MotorTrend.com and can be found in the links below.
